Charter House Sues Shatta Wale for DEFAMATION | They Seek 10 Million Cedis in Damages

It seems Charter House is first seeking interlocutory injunction to prevent Shatta Wale from recording more videos —this is pretty absurd to me, because Shatta Wale has no videos to record for now and as if
it is an on -going daily or weekly
recording sessions. But then , that is the law so Charter House has asked the Court that before the
determination of their defamation suit against Shatta Wale , they should first order him or place an injunction on him to maintain the status quo—and by this, order him to shut the hell up.
This will definitely be interesting…

Also we’ ve received a response from Shatta Wale’ s manager-BullDog (real name Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson) who confirmed that they’ve indeed been sued by Charter House and they’ve been
effectively served .
In a world governed by laws , you cannot throw out certain words and not be expected to come after —therefore , it is not shocking that we ’ve been told Charter House has sued Ghanaian dancehall artiste- Shatta Wale , citing defamation as the cause of action .
Charter House ’s lawsuit against Shatta Wale springs out of the fact that, the musician made several videos last month throwing all manner of jabs at the CEOs of
the Event organising company and even said the company operates the annual Ghana Music Award scheme on fraud or favouritism.
In law , you can be offensive and try to seek cover under Free Speech or the expression of opinion ( let’ s say insult whoever you want ) but the moment you
step into making certain statements of facts which could be false , then you are getting yourself into trouble. Therefore, Shatta Wales’ statements of fraud and favouritism are the likely options to have fetched him the lawsuit.
But then again, anyone can sue anyone in law —the problem is , will the one bringing the claim be able to prove and in this case
on balance of probabilities that they ’ve truly been defamed in law?
For this defamation claim, Charter House is asking for a whopping 10 million cedis in damages and series of orders including an order by the court to compel Shatta
Wale to record similar videos apologizing to them .
talkofgh.blogspot.com has contacted Shatta Wale’ s manager -BullDog and still no response. We will keep you updated on this issue.

BNI Interim Report Brings Out More Figures Than The GHC7 . 9 m - Ablakwa

Ghanaians should embrace themselves for more surprises as far as rot at the National Service Secretariat ( NSS) is concerned. According to information disclosed during PEACE FM 's " kokrokoo" programme , the GHC 7 .9 million embezzled at the secretariat is
nothing compared to what has been revealed in the interim report from the Bureau of National Investigation ( BNI). An amount of Ghc 7. 9 million has been lost by
the state in the month of July 2014 alone as a result of the payments made to 22, 612 non- existent service personnel . So far , the Executive Director of the NSS,
Alhaji Alhassan Imoro and 23 others have been ordered to step aside while the BNI conduct
thorough investigations into the issue . Speaking in an interview on ‘ Kokrokoo’ with Kwami Sefa Kayi , Deputy Minister in charge of tertiary education , Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa said “if you read the interim report from the BNI, the evidence is overwhelming; vouchers with same signatories ... personnel who changes.their signature every month, it is very damning and nobody should attempt to justify this practice which clearly have been going on for some time” . The interim report , he said , brings out more figures and more people from other regions that have been picked up .
According to him, “the 7 .9 million cedis was on a monthly basis and that if you do an average , it will lead to about GHC 94m a year” .
“ Per the interim report , you can tell that by the end of the investigations , we are bound to
see more debt. The rot is deeper than what everybody thought.. .It is quite deeper than that. .. if you do an average in a year, they are
pointing to about GHC94 million a year. The investigations are still ongoing and so it will be interesting to see what the final figures will look like and how deep this whole rot is …” he disclosed.
Per the Deputy Minister ’s remarks , some bank managers were helping some of the NSS directors to loot the state and assured that they will also be brought to book. Even though he claims some of the people implicated are trying to get off the hook , he added that “the BNI is committed to ensuring
that all those people are picked up and brought to justice .

Kwasi Appiah' s Lawyers Issue One -Week Ultimatum To GFA Or Face Wrath

Lawyers of former Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah , have issued an ultimatum to the Ghana
Football Association to honour payment of bonuses due the coach in the Afcon qualifier matches against Togo and Uganda or face their wrath, Ghanasportsonline .com can reveal. Kwesi Appiah 's solicitors have given the Ghana
FA up to Friday October 10 to settle all bonuses and allowances owed to the World Cup coach or face serious legal actions.
Lawyer of Kwesi Appiah , Kojo Graham earlier hinted at an imminent court action against the
Ghana FA over the ‘ unfair’ dismissal of his client as coach of the Black Stars. The GFA is now in the process to of agreeing a
severance package with Appiah but his lawyer Kojo Graham hints his client could take David
Duncan’ s route against Hearts of Oak for unfair termination of his contract but the Lawyers want his bonuses and other allowances paid
before even the legal packages in his contract are sorted out .
The 54- year- old, who led the four- time African champions to the 2014 World Cup, has not been paid the allowances for the matches against Uganda and Togo as well as the winning bonus for the game against the Sparrow
Hawks . The Black Stars managed a 3 -2 win over their eastern neighbours last month in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Lome. The Ghana FA severed ties with the coach last month after a two-year reign but is yet to pay
the outstanding bonuses and allowances.
